Insight school student pages for state House in Olympia

Tarra Moore, a student at the online Insight School of Washington, traveled to Olympia to serve as a page in the state House of Representatives between Feb. 10-14. She was sponsored by her 10th District Rep. Norma Smith, R-Clinton.
Tarra is the daughter of Janet and Craig Moore of Langley.
“It was a joy to have Tarra serve in the House and I'm so pleased she had the opportunity to experience the legislative process in action,” said Smith. “She is a delightful young woman who showed leadership and initiative during her time here. I hope she continues to stay involved in state government.”
As part of her regular page duties, Tarra delivered messages and documents to legislators in their offices, during committee hearings and during floor sessions in the House chamber. She also attended page school every day where she learned how a bill becomes law and other legislative actions.
Students interested in paging must have a legislative sponsor and be between the ages of 14 and 16. Applicants must also obtain written permission from their parents and school.
Interested students should apply in the fall to be considered for the 2015 legislative session. For more information, visit: http://www.leg.wa.gov/House/Pages/HousePageProgram.aspx.
